The Karp KATR Recessed Access Door is designed to provide access in a suspended drywall ceiling that is part of a fire rated floor-ceiling assembly. The combination of steel and double thickness of drywall maintains the fire resistive qualities of the floor-ceiling assembly. The frame is 16 gauge steel, and the door is 18 gauge steel, recessed 1-1/2" to accommodate double thickness of drywall. The hinge is an exposed continuous piano hinge, and it is finished with a prime coat of rust inhibitive electrostatic powder, baked grey enamel.
The Karp KATR Recessed Access Door comes with screwdriver operated cam latch.
